This silver pendant depicts the scene of St. George destroying the Dragon, a story famous in Christian religious history and culture. The scene represents the inevitable triumph of good over evil, with St. George clad in armour atop a white horse on the side of good, and the vicious, threatening, but conquered dragon representing evil and Satan.
This particular depiction features a prayer to St. George on the anterior side of the relief. (Unfortunately no translation by MFC is available, our resident 9thC. Slavic languages expert was sick today.)
